resumereview.com review and discounts

When I realized that my job searching process was going too slowly, I decided to ask for professional advice. This website met me with an invitation to get free resume critique; and I decided to get an advantage of it. Site had minimalistic design and only contained brief information about the services and prices. I uploaded my old resume and sent it for review.

Don’t know what they meant by ‘fast’, but I only got a critique the next day. They pointed out at some of my biggest mistakes and, of course, offered their services to fix things.

Pricing

They offer standard ($185) and professional ($349) resume rewrite plans; there’s also LinkedIn rewrite option available. As I didn’t need a cover letter, I picked the cheapest one and clicked on Pay. To my regret, there wasn’t an option to choose deadline so at the moment of placing an order I didn’t know how soon I will get the final product.

Resume writing process

When I paid for the order, I got an email from them with a questionnaire to fill in. I spent around half an hour and it was a bit irritating as my resume already had the answers to many of those questions. I sent it at once so the writer could start working on my resume sooner and also asked when to expect the first draft. The answer was disappointing: five to six days. They also had rush delivery option, but it was a way too expensive.

Quality of writing and support

As I don’t have any consultation with the writer, I didn’t know whether I will like a resume. Five days later I was sent the first draft. Well…maybe it was written professionally, but looked too dull. I asked the writer to change the formatting and describe my latest job in deeper detail as it was a significant experience for me, and the writer did it until the next day. Not sure if they have some sort of customer support – I even haven’t found their phone number on the site!

Conclusion

My experience with the company and resume itself didn’t impress me much. The resume looked usual, and, to be honest, the writer didn’t change it completely. I expected some more from a service that charges around $200. The interned is just flooded with such services, and I think there are more effective ones, for example This one.
